Con questo post segnaliamo un’iniziativa nata dalla collaborazione tra Seamus Heaney HomePlace e Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again. Domani, alle ore 7 italiane, il Dr Richard Rankin Russell (Baylor University) terrà una lezione online dal titolo “Place and Displacement: Seamus Heaney’s Poetic Engagement with his Home Place and Adopted Home”.

This lecture will consider how Seamus Heaney revisited and reimagined his native ground near Bellaghy, Northern Ireland while living most of his adult life in Dublin. These poetic engagements with his childhood places, in turn, enabled him to write evocatively from his airy perch at the edge of Dublin overlooking Sandymount Strand. For Heaney, place was not a static category, but a site of dynamism, and this lecture attends to his ongoing engagement with these changing places in his poetry
L’intervento si concentrerà quindi su tematiche che sono oggetto di indagine da parte dei membri del Centro di Ricerca Coordinata e, in quanto tali, affrontate nelle lezioni del Laboratorio “Geografie Letterarie”.
